The Big Shebang!

This weekend we participated in our first craft show...so exciting!
The event was held at City Roots in downtown Columbia, SC.
The Big Shebang featured local crafters as well as a Slow Food of Columbia potluck.

We received amazing feedback on our creations and the most rewarding aspect of the day was the frequent grin that spread across the faces of visitors as the they looked over the table.  I am so pleased that a grumpy octopus and a faceless gnome from my brain can evoke a smile from a stranger!

Mars had a great time exploring the farm.  She was promptly put to work picking strawberries and pulling weeds to feed the chickens.  It was just an amazing scene and something I truly aspire to - a fully functioning, dynamic farm in the heart of the city.  Our little garden pales in comparison, but one day we hope to feed ourselves and our neighbors using our backyard.

I wished I had more time to eat...everything looked so good...but I could never seem to get outside.  The drums were amazing and much to my heart's delight, there was a banjo player!

Thanks to all who visited with us and shared kind words!
We can't wait to visit the farm again and we are counting the days until Crafty Feast in July!
