New for 2013

It is spring.
Not really, but I like to pretend.
An entire day of sunshine sent me into a cleaning + purging tizzy yesterday.

Last week I finally finished the 2013 look book / portfolio / catalog thingy I've been working on.  We have a handful of new designs this year AND I have reduced the size of some of our older designs to "plushy" status.  They are perfect for smaller hands and budgets.  Take a looksy >>

A skunk!!!  This is probably one of the cutest things I've made.  Ever.  Really.
He is more plush than pillow though. I just might make a pillow size for moi.

A new cat, a bird (available in three sizes), and rabbit + swan cameos.
I plan to experiment more with the flowery botanical detail in the swan.

 Also trees.  I like trees.

A rainbow trout and koala.
They were commissioned but I really liked the way they turned out so I'll be making them again.

These were inspired by the coast - a small seal and a whale cameo.

And the designs below are those we have downsized to plush toys or pillows for little beds.

commission adventures :: hans

I worked on this project last fall but had to wait until after the holidays to share it.  It was a gift for Meredith, the owner of Hans (a beautiful German Shepherd), from a family member.  So many gifts were purchased in secret over the holidays -- it was really fun to witness and share in the joy of giving handmade.

This was my favorite of the pictures -- the head cock got me.
We have a shepherd also, so I am a sucker for that curious gaze.

I made a sketch...and then did my best to convey his sweetness in pillow form.

Meredith provided the picture below.  SO ADORABLE IT HURTS.

holiday open studio

Our final open studio of the year is Saturday-- and we are making a little holiday celebration of it.

If you needed a last minute, locally made gift you just might find what you are looking for here.  AND I will have coconut macaroon mountain cookies, nutella fudge, bacon jam with brie and a little mulled cider.

Come visit!  http://www.facebook.com/events/169630506494643

holiday business

First, let me announce some wonderfully exciting news.  At this very moment a big, chubby box of our pillows is headed to Greenville, SC!  (I have been sitting on this info for months...so glad to let it be known!)  South Carolina has a special place in my heart because it is where our little family venture took off.  Greenville is home to Art + Light Gallery, a beautiful space full of lovely work.  Please visit Teresa and squeeze our cushions in person...

I know, it is only the first week of November...but without intense focus on the holiday rush ahead, I would fall miserably behind.  Sadly, I do not have elves in my studio to help ramp up production. It is just little ol' me - the husband is still out of the country and the daughter is quite busy with all the drama that comes along with being twelve.

So, I've got some holiday business to attend to and must sign off until Dec12...just in time to restock the Etsy shop with last minute holiday gifts.  The items currently in our Etsy shop are all that will be available until November 23.  Our online shop will close from the 24th until Dec 12th while we attend our fabulous holiday shows:

First is Lincoln Winter Market Nov 24 in Olympia

Next is Urban Craft Uprising in Seattle Dec 1 + 2

And finally, Crafty Wonderland in Portland Dec. 8 +9

etsy love

Recently we have been getting a lot of love from the Etsy community.  Our mountain range pillow, the Sisters, and our Teepee have been in so many treasuries I can hardly keep up with commenting on each one.
I so so so so so SO appreciate others taking the time to include our work in their collections.

Although it is now on its way to New Jersey, this quiet beige and green teepee was on the front page twice this month!  I did not even realize it until I did a search this morning.

Also, our mountains were featured earlier in October in this spooky collection.

In fact, almost all of our pillows have been treasured - it has been AMAZING!
